What are the symptoms of leg poor circulation?

1 reading time-minutes

Once the day is over and your legs are suffering and swollen, it is possible that the phenomenon is due to poor blood circulation. In these cases, in fact, the blood struggles to return to the heart.

There are multiple symptoms that can constitute alarm bells for poor circulation in the lower limbs. If attention is paid to these signals, it will be possible to remedy and prevent the symptoms from progressing, even causing aesthetic imperfections, which otherwise could be reduced.

But what are the symptoms that you can notice on your legs due to poor circulation?

  • Swelling of the legs and ankles, with a generalised sense of heaviness and pain;
  • Tingling in the limbs;
  • Cold feet and hands;
  • Manifestation of skin spots reminiscent of bruising, due to the rupture of capillaries;
  • Varicose veins (tortuous vein even with the naked eye)

These symptoms, which occur mildly at an early stage, may become more important if neglected.

What causes circulation problems?

The blood circulation of the legs divides into deep and superficial. The deep vein is composed of the main veins, which allow the blood to go up to the heart. Edema and thrombi may occur right there. Instead, the superficial circulation is that composed of the capillaries, where the famous varicose veins and rupture of the capillaries can be manifested with consequent bruises, visible to the naked eye.

The causes of circulation problems are basically threefold:

  • Genetic: when, in fact, the problem is inherited from genetic heritage and is also found in other family members.
  • Standing or sitting too much: in both cases it creates a fatigue of the legs as the blood struggles to go up to the heart.
  • Temperature and climatic conditions: too humid and hot environments dilate the venous system, creating fatigue and fluid stagnation.

Thus, some types of professions, such as those who work long hours in front of a computer or have to stand for a long time in restaurants and kitchens, have a greater chance of fatiguing blood circulation. Especially the latter, which must work in extremely hot and humid environments due to the presence of hot stoves and refrigerators in operation.

Even those who, staying for hours in class or sitting at their work table, suffer from this problem. Reduced lock down, in fact, many professionals have been forced to work in smart working, significantly reducing physical activities.

If in the past, before the pandemic, you had the opportunity to leave your home to go to work or take breaks with your colleagues detaching from your desk, now work shifts often leave no room for the movement of your legs.

What can be done to improve leg circulation?

What can be done to improve blood circulation in the leg and reduce venous disorders? Definitely a constant physical activity. It is also recommended, a halfhour walk a day to reactivate the entire circulatory system of the limbs and a little stretching. Drink water and herbal teas to stay hydrated.

Then, again, use elastic socks that help circulation, such as those in the Solidea catalogue. In addition, Solidea branded products are all of the highest quality, made with the use of OEKO-TEX certified materials and subjected to antimicrobial treatment to avoid any infections.

The Solidea medical devices are comfortable and easy to wear, in addition to graduated compression, they are also available in various patterns and denier sizes and in the therapeutic sock and preventive sock versions for men, women and unisex.
